Recently completed works

A recently completed project by Insula Preserve (one of our Approved Specialist Contractors) for extensive Dry Rot repairs to a period property in Ayr.

Long-term water ingress via a rainwater conductor (out of sight in a light well) resulted in the tenant noticing some damp staining internally.

We were called out to investigate and immediately became suspicious that the issue was much more extensive than was evident and, in this instance, recommended a more detailed survey including exposure works was carried out. This revealed extensive concealed decay which actually involved both floors of the subject property and adjacent property in the conversion.

We were able to accurately determine the extent of decay and provide a specification, cost and programme for remedial works (unfortunately, however, these were delayed by lockdown).

Major structural repairs together with more intricate finishes made this a very challenging, but interesting, project.
