We are consultant surveyors providing advice to construction professionals in relation to timber and damp defects including fungal decay, dampness, basement waterproofing, etc. Our service is to undertake surveys and provide detailed reports and cost assessments for any specialist remedial works required.
The scope and extent of surveys are tailored to the project’s needs, whether it be at feasibility stage, as part of the design process or at construction
phase.
We are NOT contractors who derive their income from carrying out, often unnecessary or excessive, rot treatments or damp-proofing works.
We understand that your reputation matters as a property professional and you need to be 100% confident that the specialist surveyors
you use offer you and your client the following:
Rowallan are industry leading surveyors and offer all of the above.
Why is Rowallan different?
As independent specialist surveyors we charge a fee dependent on the property size, type and scope of survey required. Our service is to provide you and your client with the best impartial advice. We do not offer free surveys in the hope of making money from (often unnecessary) remedial works. Contractors offering a ‘free’ survey derive their income from carrying out remedial treatment work, thus, there is a significant vested interest in the extent of work they consider necessary. The experience of surveyors working for such companies can vary considerably and are often incentivised to generate orders by being paid commission. Rowallan are different because we strive obsessively to add value by providing all clients with honest surveys – therefore giving short term savings by avoiding unnecessary works and long term peace of mind that the property has been properly and accurately surveyed.
Should we determine that specialist remedial works be required we can arrange for this to be undertaken by one of our Approved Specialist Contractors.
Benefits of using a Rowallan Approved Specialist Contractor – You can be safe in the knowledge that:
Whilst the contract for remedial works will be direct to the Specialist Contractor, they will engage us to provide technical advice/ supervision and act as a liaison between the specialist contractor and design team and/ or principal contractor.
You may well have previous experience dealing with preservation companies, in that, most predominantly deal in the domestic market, and frustrations occur with organisation, communication, programming, health and safety, understanding of the contract process/ payment schedules, etc. Our Approved Specialist Contractors and ourselves as consultants are well-versed in commercial contracts.
Alternatively, should you wish for remedial works to be undertaken by your own contractor, we can be engaged as consultants to manage this process in either a pre-planned or ad hoc basis with fees agreed depending on size of project/ level of advice required.
